Presented here is a one of a kind 1 of 1 Superman Comic Book Printing Plate for the Superman comic book issue #377 1982. These printing plates were supposed to be destroyed per company directive. The comic book printing plant located in Sparta, Illinois was a facility that produced America’s favorite comic books from the 1960s to 1990s. Through the years these comic book cover printing plates were either melted down or destroyed by the workers as was the custom. Not all were destroyed as some of the workers dumped the plates in the vacant land next to the printing plant. these were discovered in 1992 by a collector whose father owned the vacant land while visiting his family in Sparta. Most have been completely destroyed by weather over the years. They were only able to recover about 400 different issues out of the many thousands created. these are virtual works of art. Beautifully Framed 21 1/2″ x 35″
