Hall of Famer Wayne Gretzky is the subject of this stunning Gartlan porcelain cast figurine measuring 10-by-4 inches and signed by Gretzky in black ink on a card attached to the base. The limited edition piece is serial-numbered “#201/1,851,” marking the point total that surpassed Hall of Famer Gordie Howe’s career record, with a sticker from Gartlan attached to the bottom stating his approval and commendation for the celebratory piece honoring Gretzky’s record-breaking game on Oct. 15th, 1989. Wayne Gretzky is arguably the most dominant athlete in North American sports history. Gretzky led the NHL in points 11 times—with a career-high 215 points in 1985-86—and would be the NHL’s all-time points leader even if he had never scored a goal in the professional ranks. Nicknamed “The Great One,” Gretzky’s number “99” was retired league-wide, and his 1979-80 O-Pee-Chee rookie card remains a grail of the hockey collecting specialty. Upon his retirement in 1999, Gretzky received the honor of immediate induction to the Hockey Hall of Fame. The bottom of the statues shows that it is from Gartlan USA for authentication.
