Historic four page contract (two page front/back) dated on July 16, 1962 for the Beach Boys at Capitol Records. Signed by each of the six members in ballpoint or steel-tip pen including Brian Wilson, Dennis Wilson, Carl Wilson, David Marks and Michael Love. Capitol had signed the Beach Boys as vocalists for a period of one year to record a minimum of 6 masters and gave them the sole right to approve the arrangements of the selections to be recorded. The Beach Boys had a pivotal, career-defining relationship with Capitol Records, signing in July 1962, which launched their major-label success with hits like “Surfin’ Safari,” leading to iconic albums such as Pet Sounds, compilations like Best of the Beach Boys, and their famous surf-themed image, with Capitol.
