Spalding Football Model SBP Canvas Pants 1920’s

On the auction block is a pair of 1920’s Spalding model SBP canvas football pants! The pants have only VERY light signs of game use and wear. They are in excellent condition with no issues at all! They really look as tough they were never used (see all photos)! Both of the original thigh pads are present and solid. Both of the sewn in knee padding is also present and in great shape. There is thick wool hip and lower back padding sewn into the inside of the pants. It too is in amazing shape with zero damage (see photos 8 and 9). All of the belt loops are present and tight. The cloth draw string appears as though ti could be the original. There is a very cool circa 1914 – 1930’s Spalding makers tag sewn onto the center of the hip padding (see close-up). The original owner had has name BOLTZ P. stenciled onto the back of the pants along with NYM and PHD (see photos 5 and 6). Here are the measurement: WAIST– 30″, INSEAM – 16″, TOP TO BOTTOM – 29 1/2″.We included (for reference only) a scan from a 1928 Spalding catalog that shows the SBP pants (circled in red) and how they match up exactly with the ones here for auction. This amazing museum quality 1920’s Spalding SBP football pants will look killer displayed in your home, office, sports room, etc!
