Presented is an appointment notification signed by President Theodore Roosevelt. The document eloquently gave Cecil Cooper an appointment as a Trustee of a Reform School. It was signed by Roosevelt in black ink along the bottom signature line. It was dated to May 2, 1902. The document was placed in a custom display with photos of the President and it measures in 10″ x 14″ (has compacting fold) at with an overall of 32″ x 37″.

Cecil Clay was a Civil War Medal of Honor recipient and the Chief Clerk and General Agent for the U.S. Department of Justice and served in that federal role from 1883 to 1903, having been originally appointed prior to Roosevelt’s presidency.
