This Sherwood hockey stick was used by Paul Coffey in game competition during his career. It is a 5030- SC – PMP – Feather-Lite model and the shaft of the stick measures about 54″ with the blade being 11″. The handle/blade is affixed with proper grip/playing tape with the top having black and the bottom athletic. For identification, his name “COFFEY 77” is screen-printed in black on the handle. There are numerous scuff marks on the stick’s decals and it shows wear on the blade. The stick is highlighted by an autograph of Coffey on the blade in black felt tip pen (“8”). Overall, it shows tremendous use from a great player.
Paul Coffey played for nine teams over 21 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL). Known for his speed and scoring prowess, Coffey ranks second all-time among NHL defencemen in goals, assists, and points, behind only Ray Bourque. He won the James Norris Memorial Trophy as the NHL’s best defenceman three times and was voted to eight end-of-season All-Star teams (four first-team and four second-team). He holds the record for the most goals by a defenceman in one season, 48 in 1985–86, and is the only defenceman to have scored 40 goals more than once, also doing it in 1983–84.
