This item is from Phil Tuckett’s personal collection.  It took several decades within his career to amass these rare collectibles at events. The highlight is that it includes autographs of the most prominent entertainers, historical figures, and sports players Tuckett met along the way.

Natrone Means is an American former professional football player who was a running back in the National Football League (NFL) for the San Diego Chargers, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Carolina Panthers from 1993 to 2000. He was selected by the Chargers in the second round (41st overall) of the 1993 NFL Draft. In 1994, he was selected to the Pro Bowl during San Diego’s Super Bowl season. He is a member of the San Diego Chargers 50th Anniversary Team. Means was nicknamed Natrone “Refried” Means and, later, “Natrone Means Business” by ESPN’s Chris Berman, He is currently an assistant coach at North Carolina.

Presented from Tuckett is a this Natron Means authentic game style San Diego Chargers jersey (1994) . These type of jerseys from Tuckett’s collection were worn or used during NFL film broadcasting and interviews. To capture the video realism they are authentic to the style that players wore on the field. On this Russell Athletic one, all the identifiers outlines (as well as bolts) are screened on in yellow/white.  There is no name on the back nameplate.  The Russell Athletic [size] 52 tag is sewn in the tail with a fabric flap (100% Nylon). It also features the NFL 75th Anniversary patch from 1994 on the front chest.

Phil Tuckett suited up for a single game for the San Diego Chargers in 1968, and his time as a professional football player consisted of a year-and-a-half spent mostly on the Chargers practice squad. One might surmise that Tuckett’s contribution to professional football was minimal, and they would be correct, until taking into consideration that after retiring as a player Tuckett spent the next 38 years working for NFL films. Tuckett won 30 individual Emmy Awards in 30 years while with NFL films documenting the NFL. Of particular note, Tuckett worked directly with Ed Sabol, the man who started and was a huge part of  NFL Films.
