The Meadowlark Lemon Award 2006, presented by the COA Legacy Foundation, honors individuals who have made significant contributions to the community of Wilmington. This prestigious accolade not only recognizes outstanding achievements but also celebrates the spirit of service and dedication that enrich residents’ lives. Through this award, the foundation aims to inspire future generations to engage in community-building efforts and uphold the legacy of excellence within Wilmington.

Never offered before are the personal trophies, game-worn jerseys, signed jerseys, and basketballs from the Meadowlark Lemon estate.  Included is a letter of authentication from Meadowlark Lemon’s non-profit organization, Meadowlark Lemon Legacy Foundation, and the sale benefits his non-profit organization.

In 2003, Meadowlark Lemon was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame as a contributor. Lemon was one of the most popular and best-known of the Globetrotters. In 2000, he received the John Bunn Award, the highest honor given by the Basketball Hall of Fame outside of induction. In 2001, the Globetrotters honored Lemon with a Legends Ring and by retiring his jersey (#36)
