Presented is a rare Ken Harrelson game worn jersey that is a rare style from the 1970 Cleveland Indians. The Indians 3-D road flannel in pristine, unaltered state. This outstanding specimen is more than rare. A few roads and homes (equally beautiful) have surfaced over the years, but most have restored fronts or restored numerals. Some jersey backs were even restored by the team with original 3-D numerals, but precious few exist in their unaltered state. The C-L-E-V-E-L-A-N-D front is priceless, as is the beautiful rounded block #40 on the verso. Chief Wahoo is original on the left sleeve. The 7-button front is still intact as is the tail labeling featuring Spalding 44, washing instructions and adjoining flag tag, Set 1 #8P 1970.”  Overall, shows mild wear characteristics with thread fraying and soft malleable tagging. Interestingly, the Indians discontinued the style after only one season making this a very rare style.

Nicknamed “the Hawk” due to his distinctive profile, Ken Harrelson is an American former professional baseball player and television announcer. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1963 to 1971 as a first baseman and outfielder, and he subsequently spent 33 years as a play-by-play broadcast announcer for the Chicago White Sox. In December 2019, Harrelson was named the 2020 recipient of the Ford C. Frick Award, presented annually to one broadcaster for “major contributions to baseball”.
