Presented is a one-of-a-kind personal worn jacket that belonged to the Rock’n’Roll King himself, Elvis Presley. It is a lovely tan suede jacket made by Californian in Los Angeles. It is a [size] 44. Shows tremendous seasonal wear throughout from consistant use. There’s soiling on the sleeve ends and interior of sleeve ends. There’s also some pin wear from previous display.
The jacket originated from Elvis Presley’s personal bodyguard, Sam Thompson. Sam knew Elvis from November of 1972 until he died in August of 1977. He was given the tan suede jacket at Graceland in the winter of 1972. Detailed in the ownership provenance, later Thompson gave the the jacket to Tom Morgan. The jacket was also on display at the Elvis-a-Rama Museum. Overall, a true keepsake that will maintain value for generations of fans as it ages.

Sam Thompson first met Elvis in November 1972. At the time Elvis was dating Sam’s sister Linda Thompson. As an officer with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department, Elvis and Sam became fast friends. In July 1973, Elvis purchased a home for Sam less than a mile from the gates of Graceland. Sam travelled with Elvis on the road tours from 1972 until 1976 as Elvis’ friend and companion.
In July 1976, Sam went to work full time for Elvis, as his personal bodyguard and tour advance man, providing security for Elvis at Graceland, his other homes in California and on all the road tours, including hotel and airport security. Sam was present at the recording sessions of eight albums and accompanied Elvis on 10 separate road tours, comprising approximately 130 separate concert and stage performances.
