2005-06 Dirk Nowitzki Game-Worn Jersey Mavericks – COA MeiGray Group

Dirk Nowitzki was a first ballot Hall of Famer and is widely recognized as the greatest European player to come to the NBA. He joined the hallowed Hall in 2023.  Presented is a jersey worn by Nowitzki during the 2005-06 seaon with the Dallas Mavericks.

The highlight is that it features a NBA Finals Championship trophy patch. According to the MeiGray Mavericks letter, this navy Set 2 jersey with inventory B151 was for the 2004-05 NBA season. The jersey was not worn in the NBA Finals but rather during the regular season by Dirk.

This presented blue mesh jersey features “DALLAS” across the chest in white tackle twill. The number “41” appears on the chest and back of the jersey in silver/white tackle twill. An embroidered NBA “Logoman” patch rests on the left chest. “NOWITZKI” appears across the back of the jersey in silver/white tackle twill with his jersey number below “41”. A Dallas Mavericks “Star” logo appears on the back of the jersey below the rear collar. Tags on the front the tail include: “Reebok Team Apparel – NBA Authentics – [size] “54,” “Length +6” with Meigray Group tagging below it (coded for inventory B151). Overall, the jersey shows great wear with soft malleable tagging and loose threading,

The jersey includes a MeiGray Group Game certificate of authenticity in conjunction with the Dallas Mavericks.

Prior to the 2005–06 NBA season, veteran Mavericks captain Michael Finley was waived, leaving Nowitzki as the last player remaining from the Mavericks’ “Big Three” of Nash, Finley, and himself. Nowitzki averaged 26.6 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 2.8 assists during the season. Not only was this his third 2,000-point season, but his scoring average of 26.6 points was highest ever by a European. He improved his shooting percentage, setting personal season records in field goals (48.0%), three-point shots (40.6%) and free throws (90.1%). During the 2006 All-Star Weekend in Houston, Nowitzki scored 18 points to defeat Seattle SuperSonics guard Ray Allen and Washington Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas in the Three-Point Contest.
