Directly given to Michael Jordan’s teammate after the scrimmage or one of the practices during the 1986 Season, this Bulls practice-worn tank jersey is accompanied by a provenance letter on Chicago Bulls stationary.  “Jordan directly handed me his practice jerseys after the Bulls scrimmage,” Mike Brown states, telling the stories of his playing days with Jordan.

A man on a mission. That’s what Michael Jordan was ready for rolling into the 1986-87 season. When a debilitating ankle injury forced him out for nearly all of the previous season, he was stoked to put the NBA on notice. It was his personal mission to destroy all the competition in his way.

What the league saw in 1986-87 was a scoring barrage of the kind we’ve never seen again since. Jordan played all 82 games, scoring 40+ against 20 different NBA opponents while winning his first scoring title and averaging 37 points. He also played in the NBA All-Star Game and won the Slam-Dunk Championship. He set a Bulls single-season records for points (3,041), field goals (1,098), free throws (833), and steals (236). His output was rewarded with the first in a series of All-NBA First Team selections.

Presented from one of Jordan’s teammates is a Chicago Bulls practice-worn jersey worn by Michael Jordan during the 1986-87 season. The Bulls tank top is a red/white/black reversible mesh jersey. The “BULLS” identifier is on each side.  The jersey shows great wear and features Sand Knit double tagging on the white side of the mesh jersey.  The Sand-Knit MacGregor Sporting Good tags are stacked one above the other with Exclusivity Designation for the “Chicago Bulls”.  The bottom Sand Knit tag is the size designator with “XL”  There is a flag tag wash tag on the side of the Sand Knit tags.  The jersey is made of 100% Nylon, with Chicago Bulls Exclusivity on one side (with wash instructions flap).

We have identified this practice jersey as being worn during the 1986 season. The Chicago Bulls are pictured, in the intrasquad scrimmage game at the Multiplex Centre. We have matched this style of uniform worn during this scrimmage.  His teammate confirms it was worn during the Bull’s practices as well. Michael Jordan is pictured wearing this exact style jersey sitting in the Multiplex centre.  We also have the photo style of the entire uniform both tank top during the scrimmage game.

The practice jersey will also include a provenance letter from his teammate on Chicago Bulls letterhead.

Overall, a tremendous early Michael Jordan practice jersey direct from one of his teammates.
