Presented is a 1967 Pink Floyd full ticket for the Bill Graham-produced shows held at the Winterland Ballroom. The ticket is a mini-version of the poster done by the artist Bonnie MacLean, with a fabulous graphic on it. This ticket dates to the November 4, 1967 concert when they debuted in the United States. It was encapsulated and graded by PSA NM-MT 8.

In 1967, Pink Floyd began to attract the attention of the music industry. While in negotiations with record companies, IT co-founder and UFO club manager Joe Boyd and Pink Floyd’s booking agent, Bryan Morrison, arranged and funded a recording session at Sound Techniques in Kensington. On 15 February 1967, Pink Floyd signed with EMI,. EMI released the band’s first single, “Arnold Layne”, with the B-side “Candy and a Currant Bun”, on 10 March 1967 on its Columbia label. Both tracks were recorded on 29 January 1967. Arnold Layne”‘s references to cross-dressing led to a ban by several radio stations; however, creative manipulation by the retailers who supplied sales figures to the music business meant that the single reached number 20 in the UK.

pink Floyd was finally allowed into the U.S. at the beginning of November, with their first full day in the country being Thursday, November 2nd. They had previously scheduled two days of concerts at the Fillmore in San Francisco on November 2nd and 3rd, and a Saturday performance at Winterland in San Francisco on November 4th. However, they did not play the Thursday night appearance due to issues relating to their light show. They had brought Peter Wynne Wilson, their lighting man, along for the tour, but their lighting equipment wasn t functioning properly. Joshua Lights, a San Francisco lighting company, ended up doing the lights for the shows. Their first performance in the U.S. took place on Friday, November 3rd at the Winterland Auditorium in San Francisco, California.
