Presented is a 1952 Topps Andy Pafko Graded Card. It is card #1 in the series with a black back graded PSA Good 2.
In all, Andy Pafko played in five World Series and batted .222 with 16 hits in 24 games and 72 at-bats. Bobby Thomson’s “shot heard round the world”, the 3-run homer that helped the Giants beat the Dodgers in a one-game playoff and reach the 1951 World Series, soared over Pafko’s head as he patrolled left field at the Polo Grounds. He was named to four MLB All-Star Games and Andy Pafko finished his career with a .285 career batting average, had 1,796 hits including 264 doubles and 213 home runs, scored 844 runs and drove in 976 RBI.
Variations, errors and oddities in 1952 Topps include each card in Series 1 (#s 1-80) being found in Black Back and Red Back configurations; two of those (#s 48 and 49, pitchers Joe Page and Johnny Sain) are the subjects of error versions wherein each man’s card has the other’s printed back.
