Offered up for sale is a 1934 Carreras Ltd. Film Stars (Oval) W/O-Real Photos Complete Set of 72 cards. 19 cards have been graded by PSA either 8’s or 9.  These unusual and eye-catching, black-and-white photo cards combine to depict a wide array of 1930s Hollywood legends. Their slender-oval configuration is especially memorable, and each card was equipped at the factory with a thin layer of clear gum that enabled collectors to store the gallery in a special album. Among the issue’s many highlights are #’s 35 The Four Marx Brothers (PSA NM-MT 8) and Laurel & Hardy (PSA MINT 9), as well as Clark Gable, Carole Lombard, Edward G. Robinson, Douglas Fairbanks, Jr., Jean Harlow, Greta Garbo, Joan Crawford, Marlene Dietrich, Gary Cooper and Mae West. Overall condition is NM-MT. Eleven are graded PSA 9 MINT!  Seldom encountered as a complete, super high-quality set!
