Henry Armstrong won the World Featherweight Title on October 29, 1937 from Petey Sarron. He then went on to win the World Welterweight Title from Barney Ross on May 31, 1938. 3 months later on August 17, 1938 he defeated Lou Ambers to win the World Lightweight Title. He retired after losing to Chester Slider on February 14, 1945 with a final record of 152-21-8 with 100 KO’s.

Presented is a postmarked postcard handwritten by Henry Armstrong from 1955 at the Sir Francis Drake Hotel in San Francisco. Henry Armstrong wrote a short correspondence as a hello – catch up style note to his friend and signed the back in salutation form as “Hank”. The ink is in blue ballpoint (“7”) with some saturation present in the greeting as well as his name.
