This lot is from the T-Shirt collection from the estate of Chuck Landis (aka Largo) veteran promoter, concert best known as co-founder of the Roxy West Hollywood rock club in the early 1970’s and in 1980.  Many of the T-Shirts come from performances that were at the venue.  They have been locked away for many until now.

The Rox bar was a regular hangout for John Lennon, Harry Nilsson, Alice Cooper and Keith Moon Heidi Fleiss in the 1980s.    So you can only imagine what stories can tell?

A list of some of the musicians that performed at the Roxy Theatre West Hollywood:  Neil Young, Genesis, Peter Gabriel, Bruce Springsteen, Van Morrison, Guns N’ Roses, Frank Zappa, Bob Marley, Stevie Wonder, Warren Zevon, The Ramones, George Benson, Red Hot Chili Peppers.

The Freaky Styley Tour (also known as the Infinity Tour) was a concert tour by Red Hot Chili Peppers to support their second studio album Freaky Styley. The album and tour saw the return of founding member and guitarist, Hillel Slovak who had replaced his own replacement, Jack Sherman. The Freaky Styley Tour was even more successful than the band’s previous tours and started to gain them much more underground attention. A music video for the band’s single, “Jungle Man” was filmed by then manager Lindy Goetz, during various tour dates.

Presented is an original vintage Red Hot Chili Peppers Freaky Styley Infinity Tour t-shirt. Many members of the band wore this shirt early in their touring.  The white shirt is vintage 1985 and measures 17″ across the chest and the 24.5″ (size Small) from top of collar seam to bottom. Vintage tagging is Itees (XL) but it measures Small. Nice splash color art of the band on the front and missing tooth infinity smile on the back. The shirt is well worn and features some staining/discoloration as well as a blue paint mark on the front perhaps an error from the screen printing process.
