Ollie Johnston Signed Lithograph LE Bambi “The First Kiss”

Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston, both Disney Legend Inductees as well as members of “Walt’s Nine Old Men,” wrote a book together entitled Walt Disney’s Bambi – The Story and the Film. To promote this book, they did a global tour of art galleries, lecture halls, and Disney Theme Parks. They created a series of high grade special Fine Art Bambi pieces to be sold in conjunction with the book on this personal appearance tour. These Fine Art lithographs sold out very quickly. They released four suites of two. Each suite had a hand-signed Fine Art lithograph created from Frank Thomas original artwork, and the second piece in the suite was created from original Ollie Johnston artwork. This is a very hard-to-find Ollie Johnston piece from Suite II.

It was titled The First Kiss and showcases Faline sneaking in a kiss to a startled Bambi. It is numbered 351/500. The artwork is hand-signed by Ollie Johnston (1912 – 2008). This stunning piece of artwork is printed on heavy paper and bears the chop mark of American Atelier in New York. Printing was done under the supervisor of Ollie Johnston. The art is in a frame of 20″ x 17″ and the display measures 18″ x 21″.
