Jim Lonborg is an American former professional baseball right-handed starting pitcher, who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) with the Boston Red Sox, Milwaukee Brewers, and Philadelphia Phillies. Though nicknamed “Gentleman Jim”, he was known for fearlessly pitching on the inside of the plate throughout his fifteen-year career. Lonborg received the 1967 Cy Young Award the MLB Most Valuable Player and (MVP) award. Jim Lonborg pitched Mickey Mantle’s final career homer — No.536 — on September 20, 1968.

Presented is an OML (Selig) baseball autographed by Jim Lonborg.  He signed it on the sweet spot in a blue ballpoint pen (“9”) he also inscribed (Mantle’s Last HR 9-2068). The ball itself shows toning from age.
