James Vernon Taylor is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist, whom is known for his popular covers of other people’s songs, such as “How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved by You)” and the aforementioned “You’ve Got A Friend”, as well as originals such as “Fire and Rain”. He is a five-time Grammy Award winner, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000. He is one of the best-selling music artists of all time, having sold more than 100 million records worldwide.
Taylor’s powerful and authentic vision has been masterfully delineated by producer Peter Asher, who keeps the focus on the singer’s voice, which has never sounded better. When Bob Dylan was in decline, James Taylor rose to become the foremost vocal exponent of Appalachian folk and Southern blues classicism.
