Charles Rosen was an American painter who lived for many years in Woodstock, New York. In the 1910s he was acclaimed for his Impressionist winter landscapes. He became dissatisfied with this style and around 1920 he changed to a radically different cubist-realist (Precisionism) style. He became recognized as one of the leaders of the Woodstock artists colony.

Presented is an original Charles Rosen painting. It is a serene wintery city skyline captured inside a 5″ x 9″ area of matte. The art was titled by the artist, “Skyline / Home Base” and it was featured on the Jack Paar Show. Rosen signed the art in blue pencil (“8-9”).

The painting’s provenance is presented on the verso sticker as a previous auction (Profiles in History) featured it.

All displays are sold as is without warranty to the condition of the frame. Also, to note that this items is oversized/heavy and may incur a shipping surcharge.
