Presented is Fender jazz bass 60th Anniversary model autographed by some of the best bass players ever in the music industry. To accumulate this collection of autographs was sure an adventurous pursuit. Superbly autographed in blue, black and silver marker pen on the body of the bass are 33 signers including: Roger Waters (Pink Floyd); Lemmy Kilmister (Motörhead); Sting; Michael Anthony (Van Halen); Jack Casady (Jefferson Airplane & Hot Tuna); Mel Schacher (Grand Funk Railroad); Rudy Sarzo (Quiet Riot, Ozzy Osbourne & Whitesnake); Nick St. Nicholas (Steppenwolf); Roger Glover (Deep Purple & Rainbow); Stanley Clarke (Return to Forever); Duff McKagen (Guns N’ Roses); John Taylor (Duran Duran) and Mike Inez (Alice in Chains).

This signed bass originated from a Hard Rock Hotel & Casino employee who worked with talented musicians that came to the venue to perform. He also worked with the curator of the historic memorabilia laden casino who had the access to many celebrities and musicians (and their memorabilia of course). As a collector, it was truly the place to be as it allowed his treasure trove to be amplified. He is now ready to bring some of those treasures to market. Take notice, in the process of obtaining autographs of the musicians he had them sign the body of a guitar which is more rare than the placed pick guard ones that are often brought to market. As a musician himself, he also made sure that the guitars in his collection were oftentimes elite models like this one.

Other interesting notes:

In 1946 Clarence Leonidas “Leo” Fender created Fender Electric Instrument Company and changed the trajectory of modern music forever. The 75th Anniversary Series celebrates Leo’s bold, revolutionary designs with special versions of the Stratocaster®, Telecaster®, Precision Bass® and Jazz Bass®. Featuring unique finishes, premium pickups and remarkably comfortable necks, these instruments honor the timeless Fender designs that reshaped music.

The 60th Anniversary Jazz Bass, featuring an offset body, slim tapered neck and dual single-coil pickups, celebrates Fender’s original “deluxe” four-string with sonic excellence and style.

Known as a “deluxe” model, the Jazz Bass debuted nine years after Fender’s first electric four-string – the Precision Bass – and it brought the instrument kicking and thumping into new sonic and stylistic territory. Most noticeably, the Jazz Bass traded the Tele- (and later Strat)-like body of the Precision Bass for a curvaceous offset shape reminiscent of the then-new Jazzmaster guitar. Additionally, the Precision Bass’s thick chunky neck was swapped out in favor of a slimmer, and uniquely tapered-at-the-headstock design, ideal for playing faster and more intricate runs with ease.

And if anyone is still questioning the “deluxe” aspect of the Jazz Bass, look no further than the instrument’s trailblazing pickup configuration. Where the Precision Bass featured a single split-coil pickup designed for volume and low-end thump, the Jazz Bass boasted two single-coils capable of deep round tones, a mid-range growl in the newly-placed bridge pickup and bell-like high-end that cut through a mix with previously unheard clarity and bite.

Given its sleek looks, easy playability and wide-ranging tone, it’s no wonder the Jazz Bass has remained at the forefront of the low-end conversation for six decades. And now Fender is celebrating that milestone with the 60th Anniversary Jazz Bass and Road Worn® 60th Anniversary Jazz Bass.

The Hard Rock resort opened on March 10, 1995, as the world’s first rock and roll-themed hotel. The Hard Rock featured various memorabilia in conjunction with its music theme. Warwick Stone was the longtime curator for the Hard Rock Hotel and Hard Rock International. At the time of its opening, the resort contained $2 million worth of music memorabilia, including concert outfits worn by Aerosmith, Lenny Kravitz, Madonna, and Van Halen. The Hard Rock also had a display dedicated to Kurt Cobain, and a piece of the plane that Otis Redding died in. Other items included one of Elton John’s pianos, a drum kit used by Stone Temple Pilots, and the shoeshine stand that James Brown worked at as a child.
