Alejandro Lavorante Signed Photo w/ Ticket Order Form – COA JSA

Alejandro Lavorante once worked as a chauffeur for Argentine dictator Juan Peron earned a number four world heavyweight rating in Ring Magazine after knocking out top-rated Zora Folley in a stunning upset. He boxed as an amateur for three years and won the Argentine Amateur Heavyweight Championship in 1954. Lavorante suffered his third consecutive knockout in a September 21, 1962 loss to John Riggins and was put into a light coma in October of that year. Though he was unconscious, he was able to move his body when given commands by his mother. By January of 1963, he could stand and speak a few words, and respond to stimuli. However, he couldn’t open his eyes and he never regained full consciousness. He died nineteen months after Riggins knocked him out.

Presented is a rare autographed photo of the boxing star who faced Cassius Clay once in 1962 where he was knocked out in the fifth round. The black and white cardstock photo measures in at 7×10. It was signed in perfect blue ballpoint with the inscription, “Regard.” The photo card itself shows some foxing from age and some paper loss on the back.

Also included is a  rare ticket style order form (3×6) from his bout (8-11-61) with Calvin Butler where he won by knockout in the second round. There’ some paper loss spots on the verso. Lastly, is a 7″ x 9.25″ cardstock photo also with some minor paper loss on the back.
