Through the All-Star break in 2016, Jose Quintana pitched to a 7–8 record with a 3.21 ERA in 117 2⁄3 innings pitched. He was named to the MLB All-Star Game as an injury replacement for Danny Salazar. He finished the season 13–12 with a 3.20 ERA, striking out 181 batters while making 32 starts. Quintana finished tied for tenth in the voting for the American League Cy Young Award with Michael Fulmer, receiving one fifth place vote.
Presented is one of Quintana’s game worn jerseys from the 2016 season. This was worn by him on Sept. 29, 2016 against Tampa Bay. He pitched six innings and the Rays had five hits with two earned runs, two walks and seven strikeouts. The jersey is a white pinstriped style with the White Sox logo in black/gray on the front and his jersey number “62”. The back of the jersey also features a MLB stitched logo, his number “62” and last name “QUINTANA” in shadowed gray/black two color tackle twill. The sleeve features an Eddie patch for Eddie Einhorn, a longtime White Sox executive and a pioneer in sports broadcasting who died from complications after a stroke.
