Presented from the Marcus Banks collection is his game worn Boston Celtics jersey from 2005-06 season.

Marcus Banks was born in Las Vegas, Nevada and he was the first Las Vegas (born) player to get drafted by the NBA. He played college basketball at the UNLV with the Runnin’ Rebels, where he was Co-Defensive Player of the Year as a senior. Banks was selected with the thirteenth pick in the first round of the 2003 NBA draft by the Memphis Grizzlies, then traded to the Boston Celtics, along with Kendrick Perkins.

Banks was selected as the thirteenth pick in the first round of the 2003 NBA draft by the Memphis Grizzlies; however, he was then traded to the Boston Celtics along with Kendrick Perkins. He was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers in 2004 for Gary Payton but returned to Boston after the trade was amended following Payton’s refusal to take a physical. In Boston, Banks was known for his good defense and ball handling; Allen Iverson, a division-rival point guard, named Banks as the toughest defender he faced in his career.

The jersey on the front left tail shows the “Reebok” manufacturers tag. Attached are four additional manufacturer’s tags with the jersey size “48”,”LENGTH +4″, “PlayDry”, and “2005-06” on them.  Across the front is “CELTICS” in green tackle twill. Across the back is the player name “BANKS” in green tackle twill. Below that and on back is his number “11” in the same tackle twill.  On the left breast is the official “NBA” embroidered logo. Overall, it shows moderate wear with soft malleable tagging. Note, there’s mild surface wear from previous framing display.
