1996 Miami Hurricanes Big East Championship Ring COA Team Sourced -Jewelers Appraisal

The 1996 Miami Hurricanes football team represented the University of Miami during the 1996 NCAA Division I-A football season. It was the Hurricanes’ 71st season of football and sixth as a member of the Big East Conference. The Hurricanes were led by second-year head coach Butch Davis and played their home games at the Orange Bowl. They finished the season 9–3 overall and 6–1 in the Big East to finish as conference co-champion. They were invited to the Carquest Bowl where they defeated Virginia, 31–21.

This ring originates from Bobby Revilla. In 1982 with the University of Miami’s athletic department, Revilla started out as a student manager. Over time he worked his way up to a full time head position and served as the head equipment manager. This allowed him to oversee all of the equipment needs and maintenance until 2012. Over his 30 year career, he was also fortunate to be part of all five of Miami’s football national championships. This item was well curated over time by Revilla and is ready to be part of a new legacy.

Presented is a 1996 Miami Hurricanes Big East Championship ring that was given to Revilla. It’s made of brass by Herff Jones – engraved in the interior is “HJ SG BR”. Around the center is “Big East Champions – 79-96.”

The center marquis shaped orange acrylic sections are pave set with (15) round full cut round cubic zirconia gemstones. Embossed on one side panel is “Revilla 9-3”. Embossed on the opposite side panel is “Miami Canes” with a football helmet image. The weight is 34 grams and it is a size 10.
