1996-97 Shareef Abdur-Rahim Game-Worn Jersey Rookie Signed Grizzlies – COA 100% Authentic Team

Presented is a Vancouver Grizzlies jersey that was worn by Shareef Abdur-Rahim. He wore the jersey during the 1996-97 season. Across the front reads, “VANCOUVER” screen-printed in red and black. Below reads, “GRIZZLIES” in white tackle twill. Player number “3” appears on the back in white on black on bronze triple tackle twill. Above reads the player name, “ABDUR-RAHIM” in white on black tackle twill.

On the front left tail is a Champion manufacturer’s tag that reads, “DESIGNED & TAILORED 96-97 EXCLUSIVELY FOR VANCOUVER GRIZZLIES BODY LENGTH +2”. Adjacent is another Champion [size] “48” manufacturer’s tag with washing instructions. On the left inseam is a “100% POLYESTER” tag and a “2 INCH EXTRA LENGTH” tag. On the left chest is an official “NBA” logo embroidered in gold-colored stitching for the 50th Anniversary of the NBA. For added value, Abdur-Rahim autographed the jersey in the front in black felt tip (“9”). This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows mild-to-moderate use with thread fraying, loose malleable tagging etc.

Shareef Abdur-Rahim is an American former professional basketball player who is the president of the NBA G League. Nicknamed Reef,  he previously served as the director of player personnel for the Sacramento Kings of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the general manager of the Reno Bighorns, the Kings’ minor-league affiliate.

Abdur-Rahim was selected third overall by the Vancouver Grizzlies in the 1996 Draft, behind Allen Iverson and Marcus Camby. He made an immediate impact playing for the Grizzlies, becoming the team’s leading scorer while setting a franchise record of 18.7 points per game. He also averaged 6.9 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. He finished third in balloting for the Schick NBA Rookie of the Year behind Philadelphia’s Allen Iverson and Minnesota’s Stephon Marbury, and he was picked for the All-Rookie First Team. By the end of the 1996–97 season, Abdur-Rahim led the team in scoring on 33 occasions, rebounding on 23 occasions.
