E.C. Coleman played collegiately for Houston Baptist, and was selected by the Houston Rockets in the 3rd round (51st pick overall) of the 1973 NBA draft. In the NBA, Coleman played for the Rockets (1973–74, 1978–79), New Orleans Jazz (1974-77) and Golden State Warrior (1977-78) in the NBA for a total of 357 games.

Presented is a pair of Coleman’s game worn shorts from the New Orleans era with excellent provenance. They are a purple mesh with yellow/green piping (elasticized) around the edges. The tagging in the waistband shows they were made by Sand Knit Medalist – Size (36). The labeling matches exemplars from Jazz in the late 1970’s. The interior labeling  features his number #12 in a patch as an easy player identifier. In later years, these shorts were commonly recycled. They have a drawstring in the waistband and a liner in the interior crotch area. The garment shows solid wear throughout and are an exemplary rare display of player worn trunks. They originate from a team source.
