1819 British Antique Flintlock Pistol VR British Crown

1819 Antique Flintlock Pistol  VR British Crown, attached ram rod. Most of these were wood and not attached.  .72- caliber. It is stamped in the barrel with a (9).   This pistol has an original chain which protects it from accidental mis-fire.  It is a Tower musket. This is a custom Civilian gun military made possible carried in the Civil War. There is not a cartoose (circular stamp issued military) which means more than likely a civilian gun.    The original Marks on the lock are not as significant as on the wood -The marks on the wood is  “VR” Victoria Regina -dated 1819.  She was not born until 1819, and not queen til 1837.  We believe that they took the lock and did a repair.  This is an East India Gun which had a running Lion.  But these guns would have all went to Tower of London for service.  It has the proof marks on the barrel. It also has an octagonal barrel, which would be a custom order for officers serving in East India.   Conclusively, an Officers gun, which was repaired, civilian gun custom made East India.
