Offered for sale is a 1958-62 Vintage RARE Dick Groat Hartland Plastics Baseball Figurine 7″ Pittsburgh Pirates in Nr/Mt condition, with no chips or cracks. Comes with the original bat. This is one of the exceptional rarities from the Hartland series of baseball statues: Dick Groat. As any Hartland collector knows, Groat is one of the most elusive of all statues in the series, and the reason for that is twofold. First, it was the last baseball figure issued by the company before it was acquired by Revlon Cosmetics in 1963. Following its purchase by Revlon, Hartland immediately ceased all production of collectible figures. Second, at the time of its issue, Hartland was experiencing a sharp decline in sales of its statues, resulting in a much more limited production run for Groat than for the earlier-issued statues. The offered statue, which is complete with its original bat. Represents an outstanding example of this great rarity. Graded NR-Mt, it is one of the finest examples we have handled.
