A Shot of Rhythm & Blues collects the tracks Rod Stewart recorded with his very first band, Long John Baldry’s Hoochie Coochie Men, between 1964 and 1966, and the material may sound unusual to those who only know Stewart’s later work. The bulk of the material is classic blues and R&B, far from the folk-rock that made Stewart famous (or the occasionally fatuous adult-pop he peddled afterwards), and Stewart’s young voice is strong and supple, which makes this material promising.
Presented is a A Shot of Rhythm and Blues record album autographed by Rod Stewart. He signed the front cover in black felt tip (“8”). The record is included and note there’s a punch hole in the cover.
