This is a JETS Sand Knit Medalist Practice-Worn Jersey Used by the Team. The white mesh Practice Jersey was used and worn. The original nameplate was removed and the “NAMATH” nameplate was sewn onto the back of the jersey. NOB lettering is stitched on double tackle twill. The FONT style is not seen worn during GAME play but rather during practice. They would re-use jerseys during this 70’s era.
The jersey’s shoulders have the white mesh double layering sewn into them. The sleeves are a straight cut. The green numeral “12” is screened onto the front and back of the Jets jersey.
The tagging is sewn into the left tail. The tags are stacked with the first white exclusivity tag reading “Designed & Tailored Exclusively for the New York Jets by Sand-Knit”. The bottom white tag reads ” LARGE” with washing instructions “Medalist “Sand-Knit”. These tags are correct for the era.
There are some dirt marks on the jersey, with overall decent use.
The HOF Quarterback has signed the back of this Worn Jets jersey above the nameplate in large black sharpie with inscription “12.” This is a fantastic JETS representation of a gamer (Practice Used-Team Issued) with the GREAT Joe Willly’s auto adorning the back.
