Nicknamed “Yaz”; Carl Yastrzemski was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1989. Yastrzemski played his entire 23-year Major League career with the Boston Red Sox (1961–1983). He started his career primarily as a left fielder, but also played 33 games as a third baseman. Later in his career he was mainly a first baseman and designated hitter. Yastrzemski is an 18-time All-Star, the possessor of seven Gold Gloves, a member of the 3,000 hit club, and the first American League player in that club to also accumulate over 400 home runs.

Presented is a pair of Carl Yastrzemski game worn pants from his time with the Boston Red Sox in 1982.  They are Wilson [size] 38 as shown in the waistband and have his number “8” and “24” as an identifier sewn on an additional swatch patch next to it.   The opposite side has the year swatch tag “82”. On the exterior, each side has a red piping stripe down the leg. Overall, they show great wear with soiling remnants throughout and areas of pilling etc.

For added measure and identification, Carl Yastrzemski signed the interior of the pants in blue felt tip (“8”).
