The 2001 Pro Bowl was the NFL’s all-star game for the 2000 season. The game was played on February 4, 2001, at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii. The final score was AFC 38, NFC 17. Rich Gannon of the Oakland Raiders was the game’s MVP.
Presented is a football that was autographed by players of the 2001 Pro Bowl. This originated from Terrell Owens personal collection.
The football itself is a Wilson NFC white panel ball with the 2001 Pro Bowl surf logo on the Tagliabue panel. It does not hold air. The autographs in marker have since turned yellow (“3-4”) with age but are decipherable.
There are three of the white panels autographed by 40+ players and coaches including Scott Player, Bruce Matthews, Jeff Christy, Joe Horn, Hugh Douglas, Troy Vincent, Chuck Knox, Kurt Warner, Matt Birk, Chad Lewis, Donnie Abraham, Jeff Garcia, Marco Coleman, Daunte Culpepper and many others.
Interestingly, this football was an item that came directly from the famous purchase of Terrell Owen’s Storage unit as reported by TMZ. Overall, it is a great NFL collectible by itself but since it came out of the unit with the provenance of being owned and by Owens it makes it that more special.
A copy of the original purchase receipt will add proof and provenance.
